Kentwood Springs Student Athlete of the Week

(New Orleans, La.) Loyola University New Orleans men’s basketball player Daniel Kuhl has been named the Kentwood Springs Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of February 23.

The senior guard from Winter Springs, Florida scored a career-high 24 points on Saturday to help the Wolf Pack defeat the Belhaven Blazers, 78-75, in overtime in the Pack’s final regular season game of the year. Kuhl made a career-high nine field goals on 13 attempts and tied a career-high with five made three-pointers. He also pulled down three rebounds and dished out three assists.

In the Wolf Pack’s narrow 76-82 loss to Bethel on Thursday, Kuhl scored 19 points, grabbed seven rebounds and handed out three assists. For the week, the senior averaged 21.5 points, five rebounds and three assists per game on 71% (15-21) shooting from the field and 64% (7-11) from behind the arc.

Kuhl finished the regular season with 10.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game, and leads the Wolf Pack in three-pointers made (58) and three-point percentage (.450). With the win over Belhaven on Saturday, Loyola secured the No. 6 seed in the SSAC conference tournament, which will take place March 4-7 in Montgomery, Alabama. The Wolf Pack will take on the No. 3 seed Bethel at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 5.
